Very interesting. Some exotic fruits/vegetables which I've never seen. The beautiful place setting at the table was quite a contrast to the beat up old boats (Junks?) and clothes hanging outside of the dwellings. However, just the words "Viet Nam" conjures up memories of such a horrible time in U.S. history that I find it hard to separate the bad from the beauty of what you have depicted here, Frenchy.
Exotic fruit: jackfruits, starfruit, plums, peaches (not the ones we know), papaya.
Boats: big ones are junks, small ones are sampans.
Memories of the war are still very present in everabody's mind in Vietnam, and still impact the environment (napalm, land-mines). Almost a whole generation of men has disappeared and every familly has been affected. Once you have visited the Remnants of War Museum (see my post on this), you understand how deeply it has affected the whole country and several generations, just like WW II.
